Accidental gunshot

[edit]

Is this for real?

"During the 2006 session a Delegate accidentally shot off his gun in the office. Only the plastic cow placed on the desk of one young man has been witness to the sad tale of broken hearts and broken dreams encompassing this corner of the seventh floor." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tjswaine (talkcontribs) 05:34, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know about the plastic cow and the other comments, but I understand from newsmedia, that a Delegate did have a personal protection gun accidentally go off in his office. Fortunately, the bullet was defelected by a bulletproof vest handing on the back of his door and no one was hurt. He was alone at the time. Independents

[edit]

The chart lists 3 independents when grouped by party but there is only one independent on the list by name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.251.235.99 (talk) 18:31, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

List of members

[edit]

Should the "Members" section be included here if the list is incomplete, and and external link is provided to the state webstie that list members? My thought is this should be edited out. However, I'd orefer to see some sort of consesus for at least a second before making the change. SkipperClipper 14:54, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think the list provides value in that it provides links to their websites as well as wikilinks for the few that have their own WP articles. Having the list be incomplete is bad, but I think the best course would be to keep it and complete the list. If no-one beats me to it, I will get around to completing it (I didn't previously notice it was incomplete) - unless there is a consensus to get rid of the section. The only other concern is maintaining the list - I have seen several that don't get maintained and have old info. However, this one appears to be up to date, so we may have enough editors coming by to keep it current.--Kubigula (talk) 16:39, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Graph has no labels

[edit]

The graph has no labels saying what the blue, red, and yellow lines represent. --JHP (talk) 06:40, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Current composition?

[edit]

The article contradicts itself between the chart showing current composition and the chart showing historical composition. Qqqqqq (talk) 15:44, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Party Control chart shows the results of the last general election (November 2007), whereas the current Makeup chart reflects the 4 special elections that have taken place since then. There probably should be a note in the article to explain the difference. Rklear (talk) 17:07, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. That makes sense, but a note would probably help. Qqqqqq (talk) 18:23, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Virginia House of Representatives"

[edit]

I've seen this incorrect usage in several media reports recently. Should we have a redirect here? --BDD (talk) 18:22, 19 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects are cheap. I added this one. Rklear (talk) 17:00, 30 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
They can also be misleading. As BDD points out, "Virginia House of Representatives" is an incorrect usage. Therefore, Virginia House of Representatives has be tagged as a redirect from an incorrect name. Senator2029 ➔ “Talk” 16:27, 31 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wait until January 2018

[edit]

We should wait until the new Delegates are sworn in, before changing the numbers to 51/49 or 50/50. GoodDay (talk) 23:29, 21 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed!--Mojo Hand (talk) 00:18, 22 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
