In James A. Grymes book, Violins of Hope (Violins of the Holocaust- Instruments of Hope and Liberation in Mankind’s Darkest Hour), he informs that the first Violins of Hope concert took place in 2007 in Paris, not Istanbul. Schlomo Mintz was the performer using Ole Bill’s violin, a famous Norwegian violinist whose violin had been played by survivor, Ernst Glasser. Read the book for details about his experience with Nazi Germany as a German who took Norwegian citizenship.
