THisa i cited to support the statement that the Type XI did get aboard ship; it has a single float so is the XI rather than the IV as the site implies.TSRL (talk) 08:54, 21 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

4bis

This name is used several times in the contemporary literature. The Type 4 had smaller wings than the 4bis (see [1]) and the latter is the aircraft described here. Perhaps the 4 was the earlier landplane Type 2 on floats? This existed but wing areas are still not quite right and so we need better sources (not web!), though I've combed the French journals.TSRL (talk) 08:54, 21 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Some progress: the Gaillard book, new ref, makes it clear two Type 4s were built, the first lost at St Raphael He shows a photo of the second of these, (4bis), with one float; it was 4bis that set the records. Perhaps the 4bis was later renamed Type XI?TSRL (talk) 21:03, 10 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
