My hero of short track. Eugenius 01:14, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have to agree with you on that but the 500m was a shame. HoO8MyRiCe

Hi, i'm new here at wikipedia, and the only reason i signed up was because i saw something incredibly suspicious, that seems that the information on this site is either copyed off of a copywritten site, or that site took information directly off wikipedia. the link is http://www.answers.com/topic/ahn-hyun-soo-1 and is very much the same exact thing as the wikipedia link has. Choiboy525 04:07, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The answers.com site is actually a mirror of wikipedia -Drdisque 06:20, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The article could use some cleaning up in terms of out of place and duplicate information. For example, in the 2010 Vancouver section, it talks about his performance in the 2014 Sochi olympics, and then in then again in the Russian citizenship section. 99.231.181.63 (talk) 02:10, 24 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

2010 Olympic Information

[edit]

Information from a private source. Though, at this point, I cannot find any information regarding this, the source knows what he's talking about, as he participates in short track and passionately follows Korean short track (he's also Korean). And though there is no official report of the information, the situation is readily known among international and Olympic short track athletes (e.g.: Apolo Anton Ohno, Jordan Malone, Charles Hamelin, etc.).--Girolle (talk) 03:22, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I was wondering if we can add 'pundits' section in the article. A big part of those interested in the conflict are supporters of An Hyeonsu. Many Koreans find disgrace in SKU and feel for An, understanding his naturalization to be legitimate, forced, and otherwise avoidable if not for SKU's skewed decision making process.

You can also Google '안현수 네티즌' [An Hyeonsu netizen] for more sources. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.254.146.57 (talk) 07:18, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Recommend moving the page from Ahn Hyun-Soo to Viktor Ahn

As he has now changed his citizenship to Russia and changed his legal name, would it not be appropriate to move the article to Viktor Ahn? One can rewrite the first paragraph to reflect that he was born Ahn Hyun-Soo.Bethereds (talk) 07:14, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Move to Russia

[edit]

The skater's move to Russia, surely one of the most startling episodes of his career, is given scant notice in the article. When did he move?, under what kind of publicity, both in Korea and Russia?, etc. An official inquiry was apparently set up in his birth country to answer how one of its most famous citizens is now competing against it. Ahn or An

[edit]

Is his surname spelt Ahn or An? The Olympic sources seem to spell it An. ludahai 魯大海 (talk) 03:15, 17 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I think An is better spelling for Russian 'Ан' and Ahn is better spelling for Korean '안'. So it should be either 'Viktor An' or 'Ahn Hyun-Soo'.Dstary (talk) 08:47, 18 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The English-language press I'm reading uses "Ahn", "Viktor Ahn" or "Victor Ahn" depending on the source. Though Victor An and Viktor An should redirect here. -- 70.50.151.11 (talk) 07:08, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Though the English language Olympic Broadcasting feed is showing his name as "Victor AN"... -- 70.50.151.11 (talk) 17:12, 21 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The Russian transliteration of his name would be Viktor An, which is pronounced in Russian as "Viktor Ahn." --50.46.245.232 (talk) 20:46, 21 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Media are using both at the moment. The official Sochi 2014 website has "Viktor An" under athlete profile, but "Viktor Ahn" under news reports. Very confusing.D2306 (talk) 15:55, 22 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Truth to the Citizen change

[edit]

Now that An managed to acquire some medals, incl. a gold. Some more into the back story of the citizenship change is surfacing:
