– the actor is the primary topic over the rather insignificant general. The general has gotten less than 1000 views in the past ten months, even factoring the amount of redirects, which might be one of the lowest total pageviews I've ever seen for an article. Meanwhile, the actor got 94,144 in that same period. When literally only one percent of readers searching for Victor Williams want the general, throwing a DAB page in the way is useless. - Oppose they're neither that notable. Dab pages prevent wasting bandwidth downloading the wrong article and quickly identify the correct article in preview box. In ictu oculi (talk) 14:48, 20 May 2016 (UTC)

- Support per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC by usage and significance. Plus, when the dab page gets three times the pageviews as the second most viewed article, there is a problem to fix. Dohn joe (talk) 17:21, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
- Support. The actor certainly looks like a clear primary topic to me. If you disagree with the concept of having primary topics, this isn't the place to debate that. Calidum ¤ 20:22, 20 May 2016 (UTC)

- Oppose. No primary topic here. Not an overwhelmingly well-known actor. And I don't think you can call the Commissioner of the Ontario Provincial Police insignificant! Why is he? Because he doesn't appear on TV? -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:10, 25 May 2016 (UTC)
- I mean... maybe if you live in Ontario. Nohomersryan (talk) 15:44, 25 May 2016 (UTC)
- I mean...maybe if you watch a lot of TV... You don't have to live in Ontario (I'm in England!) to think the head of a major police force (and also an army general) is not insignificant! You just have to have a world view that encompasses more than popular entertainment. -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:59, 25 May 2016 (UTC)
- Touche. But, still, I don't really think that it's a position that has huge impact outside of Ontario (I failed to find any coverage of the current one - Vince Hawkes - that isn't Canadian/Ontario-centric) and he appears to fall near the lower end of importance relating to Canadian war folk - a quick sampling of others (Bert Hoffmeister/Guy Simonds/Christopher Vokes, to name a few I tried) reveals far more pageviews and contempary coverage over this Williams. I know wikipedia has a problem with prioritizing pop culture when it's not appropriate, but when the DAB gets as many views as it does (far more than the general) and almost none of them go to the general, I think the proposed move the right thing to do in this case. (oh, and I don't always RM pop culture topics... sometimes I do place names too!) Nohomersryan (talk) 16:34, 25 May 2016 (UTC)
