article issues
[edit]This article is written from an optician's point of view. It assumes knowledge and practices which are not specified in the article. These assumptions make it hard to understand the article for anyone who is not an optician. For example: "The vertex distance formula calculates what power lens (Fc) is needed to focus light on the same location if the lens has been moved by a distance x." Is the power lens (what is a power lens?) meant to replace the original lens, or to be added? Is the "measured" value the uncorrected, corrected, or other vertex distance?
- The article is about the vertex correction formula, not about vertex distance.
- The formulas are not well written, some of them are written as computer code variable names.
I wanted to learn about this, but I am not an optician. I have background in optical design. Unfortunately I do not understand the subject and cannot improve the article.
