The caption of the map of countries with green in their flags has a category

Other, sometimes representing either lush local vegetation or heraldry

Or heraldry? Is that a SCA joke, or does it mean "repeating some green element of a coat of arms" (and thus passing the buck about what it represents)? I'd delete the word. —Tamfang (talk) 01:19, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

– "Vert" simply means "green" in French. It also is the name of several highly notable places (in France, perhaps for that reason). The meaning as a tincture in heraldry is relatively obscure – certainly not a proper WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. —BarrelProof (talk) 04:39, 25 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
