Remišová was not a full-time member of the OLANO party prior to 2019. She was associated with the party and cooperated with them, including in the run-up to regional elections in 2017 and communal elections in 2018, but she never received full-time membership in OLANO, even after several years. The Za ľudí party is the first time she's been a full-time member of a specific political party. It had been debated by Slovak media in 2019 that part of her motivation for joining ZĽ was lack of interest in OLANO to award her full membership, despite the fact she had greatly raised their profile among the public in the years before 2019. Either way, she was never a full-time member of OLANO.
