Mogollon Rim drainage
[edit]Much of the yavapai reservation. drainage goes into the Verde-Salt Rivers.
- Salt River–North and northeast ot Phoenix, the eastern Rim. –(the northern drainages into the Gila River-from the East of Arizona)
- Verde River–North & NWest, the central Mogollon Rim towards the northwestern extensions of the Rim. This abuts the Lower Rim of the Grand Canyon, or the southern sections of the Kaibab Plateau (for Flagstaff).
- The rim sections have the most water. Going northwest the flows are reduced and cover more land-area drainages.
An attempt at explaining that there is a name in Phoenix for the confluence point of the 3-rivers: Salt, Verde, and Gila in Northern Phoenix. (from the SonoranDesert( -Yuma) -Mmcannis 04:44, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
Geobox
[edit]A geobox would be great for this article. I would love it. Murderbike 04:16, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
Length
[edit]The intro says the Verde River is approximately 170 mi (273.5 km) long, but in the info box one can read 195 mi (314 km). So what's fact? Please mention the source of the correct length value.

- Alas, don't worry:
The watershed continues northwest from the Verde Valley region (Sycamore Canyon/Creek, Oak Creek) and from Big Chino Wash (article I made: Chino Valley (Arizona)). (The Big Chino drains all the way from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, so all the other tributaries supply a constant water source (even Springs, Sycamore Creek, has hot water springs in the creekbed, as do many other sections of the tributaries, or even the Verde itself, which has areas of springs in the riverbed). So the water source length is 1-number, the watershed length, would be a 2nd-number... That's my two-cents worth (about 25 bits!, for a lot of words.).. from the HOT SonoranDesert at YUMA, AZ.... ------Mmcannis (talk) 13:06, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

Description
[edit]I removed the sentence 'The Verde River is fed by the tributary Fossil Creek.' While this is true, it is not the only tributary to feed the river, nor the largest. The river is also fed by Sycamore Creek, Oak Creek, Wet Beaver Creek, West Clear Creek, Fossil Creek, the East Verde River, and a dozen other smaller creeks that are too minor to be worth mentioning. 24.116.164.16 (talk) 06:13, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
