Tone / Suggestions
[edit]The article seems to be written in a very informal tone, which is probably not apropriate for Wikipedia (see Wikipedia:TONE). I'm specifically referring to the use of the nickname "Fuzzy", and words such as "hippest". I'll try to improve the tone a little, but I've also added a tone-notice to maybe attract other helpers.
Someone familiar with the subject should take another look at the article as well, since in its current state it explains the history of Verbots, but doesn't really say a lot about the subject itself. What makes Verbot different from the hundreds of other chatterbots out there, for example?
IRC bots
[edit]The relationship with IRC bots should be pointed out. Bots have been regular members of IRC channels since the early 1990s. They don't usually try to mimic humans (although some of them reply to natural language sentences with natural language sentences) but rather serve the purpose of supporting the channel in various ways. They were known as bots before 1994, so if Mauldin invented the term Chatterbot he must have done so a few years before. Rp (talk) 23:10, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
