On notablity

[edit]

While the main subject may lack notablity the incident of which he was the leading character does have notability as it is an indicator of the United States of America's struggles with religious pluralism and the problems of using legislative chaplains. I would not combine it with Hinduism in America (though that article could link to this one), rather I would rename this article so it was about the controversy rather than the individual. In addition a similar event with a Hindu priest as guest chaplain happened in the Senate years afterward and perhaps these could be combined into a single article. Perhaps Hindu Chaplain controversies of the United States Congress.

Moved the page to Venkatachalapathi Samuldrala prayer controversy as the article was completly about the controversy and not about his biography. Styled the name after the Jeremiah Wright controversy. As there is another Hindu prayer controversy in the US Senate, was unsure how to place the phrase "Hindu prayer" in the name without causing confusion, even though most media stories did use that phrase in their headlines. Due to move I will be removing any biography categories.
