I have removed some material claiming expertise in multiple fields on the basis of having published a single article on it, and relying of press releases and the thoroughly unreliable New York Post for claims of importance in having a key role in founding a university project. I also note the journal is newly established, and therefore may or may not be notable DGG ( talk ) 20:27, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
I would like to suggest adding back the following information: Dhar teaches for the Master of Science in Business Analytics Program for Executives (MSBA).[1] This is a distinct program offered at NYU Stern, separate from the currently mentioned Center on Business Analytics and the Center for Data Science. Would also ask that information be added back about Dhar's areas of study. Much of the concern was due to "claiming expertise in multiple fields on the basis of having publish a single article on it" - Please see his 2009 CV (http://people.stern.nyu.edu/vdhar/resume_nov09.pdf) or do a citation analysis via Google Scholar/Web of Science. Information in question: Dhar is a data scientist who works in predictive analytics such as the prediction of returns in financial markets, specifically in the use of small disjuncts and collections of models to attain predictions that are robust. His work on predictive modeling includes social and healthcare phenomena as well as networks.Stern IOMS (talk) 20:24, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
I would like to suggest adding back the above information as well. I would argue that this information is important to clarifying Dhar's work and his current role in the field of Data Science. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alias12345 (talk • contribs) 16:20, 29 August 2014 (UTC)
I have also removed the "close connection" flag as the additions made by other users that potentially have a "close connection" to the subject seem to be made in order to "add reliable sources," which is cited as reason #6 that "close connection" users may make edits to a certain page on the "close connection" page.Alias12345 (talk) 11:59, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
