Translation
[edit]Hi guys! I know this kind of traslations tend to be a bummer, but it could be somewat improved. My version:
Let's go (let's go) Argentina,
let's go (let's go) to win,
that this laud supporters
won't stop, won't stop cheering[encouraging] you
(Que se trupe bruyante...) Ta ta, Mariano(t/c) 08:13, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, your translation version looks good. Since the chant might be interpreted in different ways, I don't know what translation version to choose. Mxcatania 12:42, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
- Specially problematic is the Quilombera term, which gave long headaches to the guys of the famouse tv ad. Do as you please, but whatever you use of Quilombera would probably be better italiazed.Mariano(t/c) 12:55, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
- Your version looks just fine, Pichex! Though your thee seams perhaps slightly 'over-exagerated' (that was on purpose!). Mariano(t/c) 08:17, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, it's over the top, but imho it's the right word to sing at the end of an anthem, notably in English. This is elpincha 18:38, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
AristoWHAT?
[edit]but not to the Los Pumas rugby team, whose fans perceive themselves as aristocratic. - what's that supposed to mean? That's not true at all. The chant is also cheered by rugby supporters in rugby matches, and all the aristocracy is way past today's rugby supporters in argentina. --Yago Stecher 09:14, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Proposal
[edit]Do you think it is OK to make a page called Football chants in Argentina or something like that, where we can add all the chants and so we don't create lots of semi-orphan articles? Argentino (talk/cont.) 13:19, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- I was thinking the exact same thing, maybe we can add them in this article. Belenium 04:38, 25 June 2006
- Mmmm, that looks like a big mess... I would only have chant for the Argentine national teams. Mariano(t/c) 12:20, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- OK, I think it's good. I'll look in the web for "volveremos volveremos", "ole ole", "y ya lo ve", "el que no salta" and "es un sentimiento". Argentino (talk/cont.) 18:01, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
