Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 2 external links on Vakataka dynasty. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Some notes on Pravarasena II and Damodarasena

[edit]

Hello all,

Please be aware that there are two different kings named Pravarasena II. One of them was a ruler of the Nandivardhana-Pravarapura branch who was a son of Rudrasena II and the Gupta princess Prabhavatigupta, and the other was a ruler of the Vatsagulma branch who was the son of Vindhyashakti II. To distinguish between these two, I have created a separate article titled Pravarasena II of Vatsagulma for the ruler of the Vatsagulma branch. Please keep this distinction in mind when you edit, as I have noticed people confusing these two personages in this article and others related to the Vakataka dynasty.

Also, please be aware that Pravarasena II of the Nandivardhana-Pravarapura branch is not the same person as Damodarasena, as this article claims. Some earlier historians writing in the 20th century mistakenly thought Pravarasena II was simply the regnal name adopted by Damodarasena after his coronation, but more recent discoveries have conclusively shown that Damodarasena and Pravarasena II were indeed two distinct rulers. See the article on Damodarasena for some more info.
