Some major edits. But still, documentation about his particular works has got a long way to go.And the sub headings under Writing Style needs to be improved. Also, further documentation of his long journey and involvement in freedom movement needs to be done Sahodaran 09:38, 24 September 2005 (UTC)
- Documentation of particular works have been done quite well.Sub-headings under writing style-could be changed to "autobiographical element" which is way better than the current one ("Fact" and "Fiction"),but then the content under this sub-heading should be mode some more eloquent.
- should it not be: "Fantasy and life experience in works"?or "fantasy vs. reality"-Pournami 06:52, 2 November 2005 (UTC)
- Another thing that needs to be done according to me is to divide the Biography into three or more parts. His early life, and about his family-the first one, then about his long journey, then his involvement in the freedom movement, his association with the "extremists",then perhaps-about his settled life. All these in chronological order. Also, a Quotes section would be a good idea,I think.
- ok, that division, seems sensible, but first, needs more material. ie, particular details about his jayilvaasam and freedom movement involvement, timing of publication and writing of major works.. once the content is more elaborate, the division must follow naturally. as of now, let it stay like this

- the literary career didn't exaclty start with premalekhanam; things like jeevithanizhalpaadukal were written long befor baalyakalasakhi and premalekhanam. for a long time before publication of premalekhanam he wrote "theepori lekhanangal" and allara-chillara sahithyam, serialized in various publications.in the intro to jeevithanizhalpaadukal he says he had even forgotten that he ever wrote it; many years later someone dug it up from old publications and got it published as book. baalyakaalasakhi itself sat through some incubation perid, i think. -Pournami 11:48, 29 October 2005 (UTC)

Good work on Basheer.
I have made a few minor changes... - added few sentences about MATHILUKAL the film made by Adoor - separated/reorganized the paragraph about Basheer's family life - fixed a few minor typos
Meanwhile I have started a page on Sukumar Azhikode (a few days back finished TATHVAMASI and a page on Azhikode was the first thing that came to my mind) and made few corrections on M.T.Vasudevan Nair.

I feel something needs to be done about the changes in convictions he had during his life.He is supposed to have become more religious in his later life.M.T writes in his intro to Sampoorna Krithikal;"Ntuppuppaakkoraanendaarnnu" ezhuthiya aal "Ormayude Arakal" ezhuthukayo?".See Anal Haq--Sahodaran 07:08, 19 October 2005 (UTC) --
talking of mt: this i read in basheer's intro to bhargavinilayam:(have my copy of sampoornakrithikal isked from somewhere now): kamukante diary was meant to be destroyed along with bhargavi story; basheer gave it to fabi to burn it, by some mistake or otherwise, she gave it to someone who asked for a work to publish, unbeknownest to basheer: he forgot about the whole thing long after, then mt and peple like npmuhammed mmbasheer etc went to see basheer and announced that they were going to publish it under the name "anu.." k.d. has mention of premalekhanam etc.; it was written when basheer was about 35; it is one hundred percent non-fiction, real life, says basheer. it was his diary and he wrote it down as stuff happened complete with dates. he didn't mean it as a novel or anything; the first time he got a letter from devi, he knew he had to record it all some place as and when it happened. the point is, it got awards etc, but it was meant to be destroyed initially. works did actuallly get destroyed, like bhraanthalokam; anyway; i haven't fully read the story till now, at various times have read it in pieces, but wasn't generally impressed by it, until i read basheer's wonderful intro today. and.. basheer was furious at mt for reclaiming his work from the ashes. perhaps part of the reason why its a difficult read is that a part of k.d. is non-basheer writing, original letters by devi --Pournami 11:48, 29 October 2005 (UTC)
devi story happpened in 1945
and the bits of bio: correlation evident? bicycle accident: majeed; karambipennu: thankam; water tap bit: jeevithanizhalpaadukal.. lots more
first jayilvasam
[edit]kannur: sentence was 3 months, probably spent more time that( second, tvm:sentence was 2.5 years: prob. didnt serve as much)
kadhaabeejam
[edit]i'm quite sure the writing of kadhabeejam is the writing of play mentioned in anu..; and that the story of kadhabeejam is partly borrwed from the period of near starvation in ekm, which in turn corresponds to janmadinam, which must be makaram 7 or sometime january 1939 or 40..
however, selling books carrying them as headload from place to place etc. that is definiteley post 1942 imprisonment: that was when he started getting his works printed.
second period of poverty?
[edit]when paul died in 1952, basheer was in madras, and he was struggling for money. 1954 was when pathumma.. was written in mental hospital
1954 saw publication of a many books, newest vishwavikh.. mentioned in p. a. immedately after story of pa happened, basheer must have been hospitalised.

Failed GA
[edit]I "quick-failed" this article, which was listed at WP:GAC, for the same problems brought up in its Featured Article nomination, mostly the fact that the article does not contain any references/footnotes. Feel free to resubmit to WP:GAC, but only when the article is fully cited. Happy editing. -- Kicking222 14:45, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
