Text regarding Six Day War
[edit]Removed because unsourced - if you have a proper source for this information, please feel free to include it and restore the text:
During the second deployment to the Med fighters from VF-33 were launched on 8 June 1967 dring the Six-Day War in response to distress calls from the U.S. SIGINT ship USS Liberty (AGTR-5), which was under attack from Israeli aircraft and navy torpedo boats in international waters off the Sinai Peninsula, but were recalled by President Lyndon B. Johnson, who was quoted as saying he "didn't want to embarrass our ally."[1]

Tarsier nickname
[edit]The article would certainly be richer if an explanation for how a Navy fighter squadron came to be named after a tiny, inconspicuous nocturnal primate could be given.172.190.113.41 (talk) 21:50, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
