Fair use rationale for Image:UClogo.jpg

Image:UClogo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

AAUP-UC

The section does not present a neutral POV. It also needs citations for several of its sentences. KitHutch (talk) 21:32, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

New citations added. (Leopard God (talk) 23:50, 29 September 2009 (UTC))

It still does not have a neutral POV & could use more citations. In addition, the section is an example of recentism. AAUP-UC has been representing the faculty for a long time, but only the actions in the last year or two are mentioned. KitHutch (talk) 23:38, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

Statement regarding sabbaticals that lacked a citation was removed. Other elements needing citation? (Leopard God (talk) 23:50, 29 September 2009 (UTC))

KitHutch -- will you also contribute historical background to help remedy RECENTISM? (Leopard God (talk) 23:50, 29 September 2009 (UTC))

KitHutch -- I have removed the NPOV and RECENTISM tags since you have not responded in a constructive way (in collaborative the spirit of Wikipedia) by contributing yourself to the disputed section in order to correct any perceived bias. (Leopard God (talk) 19:22, 7 October 2009 (UTC))

The section is still NPOV and has RECENTISM. My suggestion is that the section on AAUP-UC be given its own article. Personally, I don't know enough of the entire history of AAUP-UC to contribute, but I can tell that it is bias toward the current union leadership & more recent events. Please direct individual comments to the user talk page, not the article talk page. KitHutch (talk) 20:43, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

You have still not responded in a constructive way (in collaborative the spirit of Wikipedia) by contributing yourself to the disputed section in order to correct any perceived bias or recentism. Historical information has been added to address your concerns that "AAUP-UC has been representing the faculty for a long time," along with corresponding citations, so that only the last two sentences address recent events. Rather then delete the section, please contribute to it.Leopard God (talk) 13:46, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

See my comments above. Also, while AAUP-UC is important to UC, having an entire section devoted to it causes it to be out of balance with the rest of the article. I don't see lengthy sections about faculty unions on other university pages. Also, didn't the last dispute with faculty & administration get resolved? KitHutch (talk) 18:53, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

You have *STILL* not contributed in a way that would *improve* the entry, but rather, have engaged in what borders on disruptive editing that is counter to the collaborative spirit of Wikipedia. If you feel that the entry suffers from Recentism (current leadership and recent events), please do the necessary work (as I have) to add additional historical detail. As the entry stands, only the final *TWO* sentences of the entry mention current leadership or recent events. To date, you have offered no convincing evidence in support of your claims of Bias or Recentism... please help me to improve the entry rather than deleting the history of an integral part of UC. Leopard God (talk) 22:09, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

Entry updated to include the resolution of the recent contract dispute.Leopard God (talk) 23:02, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

This article is about Utica College. While AAUP-UC is part of Utica College, its recent events have not been a dominant feature of its history. If you think that AAUP-UC is notable, maybe a short paragraph in this article would be appropriate with a link to a new article created just for AAUP-UC. KitHutch (talk) 15:17, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
