Yitzhar settlers on Urif land

[edit]

Ok, there are so many films showing the Yitzhar settlers harassing the villagers of Urif (and other Palestinian villages), so I don't really understand why we are trying to hide this?

Does anyone think that the Yitzhar settlers come (in large numbers), always men only, (for rather: young boys) onto Palestinian village land: does anyone really assume that they have friendly purposes?? Seriously?? There are about 10 more WP:RS sources about the settler harassment for every one already in the article, I could of course add them, but that is not really what I’m here for....I would prefer to spend my time on say, Ottoman history.....Huldra (talk) 23:47, 19 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps you're right, but what aggravated them in the first place? I don't know. It's easy to point fingers, but we as editors must be circumspect, and look at both accounts of the story. For instance, the field that was set ablaze, the settlers deny any involvement. Yes, one Arab was killed in the ensuing trouble, but you'd have to examine closely the sources to understand what really happened there. Anyway, it is no secret that Arabs from Urif were arrested by the IDF after being caught with weapons.Davidbena (talk) 00:19, 20 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Please refrain from making a mockery of our articles and policies. The Haaretz article says point blank "An Israeli settler shot and wounded a Palestinian man on Saturday in a clash that began when a group of settlers set fire to fields belonging to a Palestinian village in the occupied West Bank, officials said." You use the Jerusalem Post attributing to the Yitzhar spokesman a claim that the Palestinians set fire to their own fields, to water down that straightforward statement of fact to "there were conflicting accounts as to who set fire to the fields". That is a straightforward violation of WP:NPOV and WP:RS. nableezy - 21:18, 20 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
We should follow WP:BRD the edit was reverted and hence there should be discussion. --Shrike (talk) 14:57, 20 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
We should follow WP:RS and WP:NPOV and not revert things for hurting some nationalist pride. nableezy - 21:12, 20 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
