Auction info
[edit]I removed this:
- A wooden Unkei Buddha sculture was auctioned by Christie's for $12.8 million in 2008, the highest ever price for any Japanese or Buddhist artwork so far.
It needs to cite a source. Can anyone supply one? — Dulcem (talk) 12:47, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Birth date
[edit]A source for the date of birth would be appreciated. Why 1151? As far as I know, it is only thought that Unkei was born arround 1150 (see Mizuno, Unkei to Kamakura chōkoku, pp. 150-155 or Kuno and Taeda, Unkei no chōkoku, pp. 103-105). Britannica gives 1148 but with no certitude (1148?). Binabik155 (talk) 16:56, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
- You are right. I understand his birth year is unknown. Why don't you edit the article? Oda Mari (talk) 09:19, 25 October 2012 (UTC)
