Burleson Bells at the University of Texas at Austin

[edit]

At the Bass Concert Hall are the original Burleson Bells from the University Tower in Austin, Texas. The plaque outside the new bell site says that the bells were positioned here in 1981 and were donated as part of an anonymous gift by Albert Sidney Burleson. They were apart of the Clock and Chime which hung in the old main building from 1930-1934. The Chime oringially played, "The Eyes of Texas," "Will You Come To The Bower," and "Dixie The Bells." The Burleson Bells were made in 1929 by Paul Garnier of Paris, France, have a musical quality reminiscent of 15th Century European Clock-Chimes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mollymfarr (talkcontribs) 14:36, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
