Improving the Article
- I think that this article is too short, and it does not elaborate on the true depth of the programs being offered by the College (It should be expanded - and the research endeavors should be detailed). The history of the leadership should also be discussed in further detail, and the rankings need work. Jccort (talk) 19:24, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
Famous Alumni
- We should also discuss some of the famous alumni who have graduated from the College. Jccort (talk) 19:39, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:UFVerticalSignature.png
The image Image:UFVerticalSignature.png is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. What happened to the Benjamin Mendelsohn section?
It had refs and reliable sources? Did someone do a POV fork or just a POV delete? 76.4.143.13 (talk) 00:57, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville is the Jacksonville branch of the University of Florida College of Medicine. What independent notability the Jacksonville branch has in particular can be covered at J. Hillis Miller Health Science Center and Shands Jacksonville. The article lacks third-party sources to establish its notability.Cúchullain t/c 18:39, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
- I totally agree with you. Jccort (talk) 01:03, 13 May 2011 (UTC)
- I'd argue against. Jacksonville's COM is not just a satellite campus for the Gainesville college as it is for Nursing and Pharmacy - it's a full-fledged UF college with it's own dean and administration. The COM-J dean does not report to the COM Gainesville dean, but to the UF&Shands president, and COM Jacksonville is not subordinate to COM Gainesville college. In addition, the college isn't part of the J. Hillis Miller Health Science Center (which is a physical facility), but rather the overarching UF Academic Health Center. If these things can be adequately communicated within a content merger, then so be it. The plus side would be the COM Gainesville page would finally have content and could remove some of the more questionable filler (timeline of deans). G8rtrance (talk) 17:18, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
Based on the lack of consensus above and the fact that no action's been taken in the last two years, I've removed the tags. LT910001 (talk) 00:06, 20 October 2013 (UTC)
Timeline of Deans? Really?
I can't find another major medical college that needs to pad their information with a timeline of deans. Does the timeline serve any purpose other than to ensure that Dr. Kone's vanity Wiki entry isn't an orphan? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 159.178.134.252 (talk) 16:21, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
Admissions
Removed some promotional tones and outdated language from the "admissions" section. Let me know if you have any questions.GoGatorMeds (talk) 17:25, 1 July 2014 (UTC)
