Take a look at the map. Colorado is not part of the "mid-west." http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Image:Map_of_USA_highlighting_Midwest.png

University of Colorado systemUniversity of Colorado — The article should be renamed to University of Colorado. This matches the actual name that the group of colleges use. The University of Colorado system name is not used anywhere by the university itself. The previous article that used the "University of Colorado" title was recently moved to "University of Colorado (disambiguation)". Relisted. • Oppose

I will have to oppose because if you look at the article, the university of Colorado system consists of 3 universities, its basically a system of universities, university of Colorado would be better if it was a single university but in this case its not --Poohunter (talk) 06:50, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support – On the university website (www.cu.edu) it quite clearly says just "University of Colorado", and there does not appear to be any mention of a "university system", although the term "CU system" is used on a few pages. I also note that the university seems to have moved from "www.cusys.edu" to "cu.edu" which would suggest that the name has been an issue and has had to be defined at some point. The official name of the CU system is "University of Colorado", and so it makes sense to have the CU system page merge with the University of Colorado page. Also, if one looks at a typical disambiguation page (say, Mercury), you would see a list of somewhat unrelated terms that happen to share the same name. On the other hand, Wikipedia pages such as football and hockey are NOT disambiguation pages; rather, they explain that the terms encompass various (in this case) sports. Having a disambiguation page for different CU campuses sort of defeats the purpose of having a disambiguation page. "University of Colorado" is not really that ambiguous a term - it is the official name of the CU system that encompasses 3 institutions on 4 campuses. New Naming

[edit]

We should rename the page because the entire University of Colorado system went through a change to rename, one we all know verbally different is that the "at" is removed from all school names, even Boulder.

University of Colorado Boulder

University of Colorado Denver

University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus

University of Colorado Colorado Springs

Although all the schools use the new names and brandings offcially, it does not reflect on some of their websites and documents. we should make the Wikis reflect the changes. They are all going through the branding change right now.

Edit on 18:25: I have made that that change reflect on this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SituAsian (talkcontribs) 18:25, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Errors

[edit]

There is no University of Colorado Golden as mentioned in the introduction, this can be verified on the University of Colorado page (https://www.cu.edu/).

The introduction also erroneously states that the system consists of private institutions. --Samuronin (talk) 15:34, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
