Is the campus really named after the town?
[edit]The article says that the town or city of University Park predates the campus or the creation of FIU. If so, that's an interesting coincidence -- when Florida starts a new university, the airport site that is available for its future campus happens to be located in a place called University Park? If so, the article should say when the town was established and why it was called University Park before FIU arrived.

- No, there was nothing out there back when FIU was built around 1965-1968. There was just the old Tamiami Airport. When FIU was opened as the years went on, Miami grew west and that area came to be known as University Park. So no, University Park was named after the university was founded not before it, because if not that'd be one weird prediction. --Comayagua99 (talk) 17:33, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
CDP?
[edit]Hi, is University Park any longer a CDP? As far as I can see, there is no Census data for 2020. Has the place merged with another one for Census purposes? Regards, Dionysos1988 (talk) 23:15, 12 February 2022 (UTC)
