Rename

[edit]

I think we should rename this page. I would suggest "Universal 3D (U3D)"

Does somebody agree ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by CADWatcher (talkcontribs) 14:49, 21 November 2007

I do not agree. The file format is called Universal 3D, U3D is just shorthand. No reason to specify both in the title. ~MDD4696 00:59, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It would seem that this standard is not supported anymore, at least this is the feeling you get when you read the sourceforge forum on U3D (where the U3D sample source code is stored). Should this page be marked as no longer relevant? Fgenolini (talk) 15:52, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In my opinion, the page is relevant: there are tons of files (mainly PDF) containing U3D data on the web, and I think the standard is -more or less- still alive. There was an upgrade (4th edition) in June 2007, even if Intel does not participate any more... The TC43 commitee is described here CADWatcher (talk) 13:39, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
