Proposed rename
[edit]I am proposing to standardize US lightship and lightship station article names. I welcome contributions to the discussion here: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Ships#Lightship_naming_revised_proposal.
- Under this proposal, this article would be renamed United States lightship Portsmouth (LV-101), with redirects:
- United States lightship LV-101
- United States lightship WAL-524
- United States lightship Charles (LV-101)
- United States lightship Relief (LV-101)
- United States lightship Overfalls (LV-101)
- United States lightship Overfalls (WAL-524)
- United States lightship Stonehorse Shoal (WAL-524)
- And the above, without "United States"
- The naming is still highly misleading to readers unfamiliar with light vessels and light stations. The vessel is never named the station name. The big letters only denote the station, not the vessel. The issue should be examined across the light vessel articles and corrected where necessary to prevent the misconception from getting into sources relying on Wikipedia.
