Vice Admiral James Malloy as new commander
[edit]- Malloy confirmed by senate
- Vice. Adm. James Malloy Confirmed to Lead 5th Fleet Following Death of Former Commander
Sammartinlai (talk) 06:25, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Sammartinlai: Yup, he's been confirmed by the Senate. But in the coming days, they'll likely have a change of command ceremony, probably something low-key,.where they'll pay tribute to Stearney, give thanks to Schlise and officially welcome Malloy. He'll break his flag and that when he'll be commander. Keep an eye out for those refs when it happens. - wolf 08:28, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
Contradiction
[edit]I've tagged the comment that Third and Fifth Fleets would have operated simultaneously for Olympic as contradictory; I've opened a discussion at Talk:United States Third Fleet#Contradiction. Xyl 54 (talk) 22:38, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
