UHG description in introductory paragraph
This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
On behalf of UHG, I'd like to submit a request to update the first two sentences in the introductory paragraph to give readers a more balanced description of UHG.
- Issue
- The first sentence highlights only our UnitedHealthcare insurance business. I am suggesting a revision that highlights both our UnitedHealthcare and Optum businesses. Also, in the second sentence I am suggesting edits to further clarify the products and services offered by UnitedHealthcare and Optum.
Here is the revised text I am suggesting for the first two sentences: "UnitedHealth Group Incorporated is an American multinational health benefits and services company based in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Offering insurance products under UnitedHealthcare, and health care services and care delivery aided by technology and data under Optum, it is the world's eleventh-largest company by revenue and the largest health care company by revenue, and the largest insurance company by net premiums. "

History section subheadings
This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
User:Lewcm, thanks for helping with my last request.
On behalf of UHG, I’d like to submit a request to improve the readability of the long History section in this article by adding the following subheadings.
- First subheading 1970s through 1990s
- This subheading could appear above the first paragraph in the History section.
- Second subheading 2000s
- This subheading could appear above the paragraph that starts with In 2001, EverCare, a UnitedHealth Group subsidiary, merged with LifeMark Health Plans.
- Third subheading 2010s
- Make the following text a new paragraph with the subheading 2010s above it. Through 2010 and into 2011, senior executives of the company met monthly with executives of other health insurers to limit the effect of the health care reform law.
- Fourth subheading 2020s through present
- This subheading could appear above the paragraph that starts with UnitedHealth announced in March 2022 that it would acquire LHC Group for $5.4 billion.
Thank you for making these changes to improve the readability of the History section! Barbara at UHG (talk) 19:12, 13 December 2023 (UTC)
- Completed as requested, this definitely improves the readability of the section. Thanks, Lewcm Talk to me! 22:59, 13 December 2023 (UTC)
Products and services section
This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
User:Lewcm, thank you very much for helping with the subheadings in the History section.
On behalf of UHG, I'd like to submit a request to delete the Products and services section in this article.
- Issue
- The content in the Products and services section is outdated and poorly sourced. In addition, it is not a complete description of UnitedHealth Group’s products and services, since it focuses only on UnitedHealthcare products, with no mention of Optum products and services.
- Issue
- The products and services offered by UnitedHealth Group’s two businesses, UnitedHealthcare and Optum, are correctly and more clearly overviewed in the Organizational structure section in this article. As a result, a separate Products and services section seems unnecessary.
Thank you for removing the Products and services section! Barbara at UHG (talk) 19:31, 18 December 2023 (UTC)

Citation for introductory paragraph
This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
User:Lewcm, thank you very much for helping with a previous edit to the introduction.
Currently, there is a citation request for a phrase in the introductory text that reads and the largest insurance company by net premiums. On behalf of UHG, I'd like to submit a request to remove that phrase as an unsourced and unnecessary detail.
