Which Loammi Baldwin is Which?
[edit]The Loammi Baldwin mentioned in this article is not Loammi Baldwin Jr(1780-1838) the son of Loammi Baldwin(1744-1807), but a grandson of Loammi BaldwinSr.(1744-1807) and nephew of Loammi Baldwin Jr.(1780-1838). This Loammi is probably the son of Colonel Benjamin Franklin Baldwin(1777-1821) who is the son of Loammi Baldwin Sr. and brother of Loammi Baldwin Jr. This son Loammi Baldwin(1813-1855) married in 1847 to Helen Eliza Avery and had a son and daughter. Most of the five sons and grandsons of Loammi Baldwin Sr. were engineers. See the references in the Loammi Baldwin Sr. article. DavidBlackwell (talk) 00:36, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

- Done. I've adjusted the coordinates at the top of the page to be nearer the canal's midpoint and the coordinates of the tunnel (in the NHRP infobox) to correspond to the tunnel's location. Thanks for pointing out the problem. Deor (talk) 00:35, 20 January 2013 (UTC)

Missing a lot of inline citation material and support ... Comment Suggestion
[edit]Not a lot of reference material or inline citations for this article. I developed a parallel article Schuylkill and Susquehanna Navigation Company to this one that has a lot of supporting material .. I will try to incorporate that into this article ... Overlap with Schuylkill and Susquehanna Navigation Company article .... Suggestion
[edit]The article is incorrect in stating that the Union canal started in 1790.[1][2][3] The Schuylkill and Susquehanna Navigation Company started construction but shut down in the 1795 timeframe. The Union company picked the earlier company in a merger in 1811. I would propose deleting the material on Penn's earlier plans for a second settlement in Pennsylvania and replacing that with a "for further information on this topic see this article." that refers over to the Schuylkill and Susquehanna Navigation Company article that has the who chronological sequence. I propose doing this on the July 15th timeframe if there are no objections. :
