Requested move

[edit]
The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the debate was NO CONSENSUS to move page. Moving it back while waiting for a discussion to conclude would be a purely procedural move, so it's better to leave it where it is until a definite consensus is reached. Then this and similar pages can all be moved at once, if necessary. -GTBacchus(talk) 03:30, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The English translation does not comply with WP:UE since it is not commonly used; generally Scouting organization are referred to by the "native" names by both world Scouting bodies (WOSM and WAGGGS). English translations given by these institutions are only for understanding and differ even on the same website. For more details see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Scouting/Translations. This article and the following examples were moved to an unsourced translation by an possible sockpuppet without relevant contribution on the discussion; after the move the mover vandalized the redirects so that they can't be overwritten. --jergen 10:42, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Furtheron the translation is unofficial and onla used by WOSM. A literal translation would be Scout Union of Brazil. --jergen 11:02, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Move back to name the org itself uses-nobody authorized the sockpuppet to move these, since the vote was leaning toward keeping the native name. Chris 19:36, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - this seems to be a dispute between two users. They and the rest of the Scouting Wikiproject should sort out what they think policy should be and then come back to the wider community. -- Beardo 15:14, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is a lie

[edit]

"The highest rank is the Liz de Ouro, Portuguese for Lily of Gold." 'cause this is only in boy scouts, in Senior Scouts/Girl Guides, Cub Scouts, Pioneers, don't have this.

"Lis de Ouro" is the correct name, and is not the highest rank, the highest is "Insignia de BP", exclusive for pioneers.

Please read WP:CIVIL.
The stated problem is no lie but an incorrectness and can be corrected if you give a source. --jergen 20:48, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Look, I have many sources, but is books and syllabus in portuguese Rodrigo.T.Argenton 21:48, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You probably refer to "Guia Escoteiro", UEB, 2001? I did not see this as an independent source because you linked the portuguese wikipedia in the same reference. Wikipedias in other languages are not allowed as references.
Is this a book? Can you give its authors and ISBN? And perhaps also the page where it states, that the "Insignia de BP" is the highest award? Is this award really called "Insignia de BP" or perhaps "Insignia de Baden-Powell"?
Thanks for answering the questions. --jergen 09:30, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is a guide, the UEB is the authors, they don't publish the writer, I don't now what's ISBN, the name is "Insígnia de BP" Rodrigo.T.Argenton 19:46, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Don't know what you want to express with "guide" - book, booklet? ISBN means Internationa Standard Book Number.
I just found these pages: [1], [2]. I I understand them right there is no single highest rank/award but one in each section. Is this correct? If yes, we should include all four in the article. --jergen 09:43, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This book instruct the new boy scout, yes all section have the highest award, but the high section is pioneiros Rodrigo.T.Argenton 12:23, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
