Talk:Undersea river
Appearance
Colloquial name
[edit]I'm pretty sure that "undersea river" is just a colloquial term for a turbidity current (which already has an article). Schazjmd (talk) 21:37, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- I looked at the other article and I agree (although undersea rivers can also be caused by stratification of water due to different levels of salinity, which yet is a similar mechanism to brine pools - maybe the alternative name just needs to be briefly mentioned in the other articles). How does one delete an article? GlamorousGeologist (talk) 17:21, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- @GlamorousGeologist, I posted at Talk:Turbidity current#Undersea river?, hoping editors more familiar with the subject area might have some ideas on whether/how to incorporate "undersea river" in that article. If that happens, all we have to do is blank this article and make it a redirect to the other one. Schazjmd (talk) 17:42, 9 December 2024 (UTC)

- Two editors more familiar with this concept agree with the redirect, so I'll turn it into one. Schazjmd (talk) 20:47, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
