"Graphics and Technology" section Bias

Hello. The statement about the Xbox 360 not being able to run the game is somewhat subjective and should be rephrased. The actual source (Footnote #18) does not mention anything about the Xbox 360. However another source (Footnote #19) is more relevant the the Xbox 360 subject. Anaverageguy (talk) 06:33, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

That section seems to exist solely to take pot shots at the 360's capabilities... There is very little about the actual use of the tech in the game save for its direct correlation to not being able to run on the 360. I would actually recommend removing the seciton unless some actual discussion of the engines and such used in making the game was to be made, rather than what we have here. Wikipedia is not a hype-forum for the "console wars"... 214.3.138.234 (talk) 17:07, 29 March 2010 (UTC)Steve

I agree....It's very, very biased. It's just like how Epic said they could never run Gears 1 on Playstation hardware because of RAM issues or something, which is obviously incorrect and misleading. It's worth noting that UC2 uses 90-100% of the SPU load, and even the amount of data being used on the Blu-ray, but to say that it is confirmed that the game can't run on the 360 because Sony's Golden boys say so is very misleading. The inhouse engine was built from the ground up to take advantage of the Cell architecture. Just like how Alan Wake uses a custom engine for the X360. I'm removing that small part until an actual unbiased source confirms this. I'm sorry to whoever worked hard on that section, you can add it back in when you have a better source. -(CadetMadet)

Subtitle

The "Among Thieves" subtitle does not appear in the teaser, and looks disjointed from the "Uncharted 2" title on the Game Informer cover I'm going to hazard a guess that that's the name of their article, rather than the game's subtitle (like "Drake's Fortune" in the first). Any news otherwise? SynergyBlades (talk) 23:50, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

I would have agreed certainly, however I just checked the Naughty Dog website and they themselves refer to this game as Among Thieves. Who knows, maybe it'll grow on us? :) 58.7.66.134 (talk) 00:09, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for that, I'd only seen the GI article. It's also over on PlayStation.Blog, which I may link to. I have moved the article to its new name. SynergyBlades (talk) 00:20, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Second Trailer

I am unsure how to add a cite note but I added info about the second trailer. Here is the link: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/43626.html —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.173.99.135 (talk) 11:31, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Information

This forum thread covers all the major information released to date on the game. It even has sources for all of the information. We can't use this as a source directly but it would sure be a good place to get information on the game. http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=uncharteddf&thread.id=33994&view=by_date_ascending&page=35 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.161.120.98 (talk) 12:22, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Images

Hello. I think we should add one or two images on this page to illustrate the game a bit more. Here is a link to some screenshots. I would post, but I don't have/don't plan to have an account. 124.177.129.42 (talk) 09:54, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

If you can find a Free Use screen shot, by all means please add one. Also, you might as well make an account, its easy! Bumpyrat (talk) 15:55, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

The Leaked Gameplay Vid

From the GDC. Should it be mentioned? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.199.45.177 (talk) 20:40, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

It doesn't seem to show much that is notable that we don't already know about; but if you feel there is, find a reliable source that comments on the leak (rather than interpreting the footage yourself, or merely linking to it). SynergyBlades (talk) 20:48, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

Multiplayer

Is Elena not playable in the multiplayer stages? I know the Multiplayer was only a Beta but it only mentions Chloe, Sully and Nathan and I'm just curious. Earisu |Talk 11:09, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

Elena's not currently playing in the co-op missions (she is a playable character in the competitive modes) as far as I can see from playing the beta, but it's early days so maybe she will be playable in an update during the beta or after the full game release.86.27.61.246 (talk) 13:36, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Release dates

People keep changing the release dates, do we have any reliable sources to say when it's coming out (not amazon or play.com), the source referenced just says TBA. Earisu |Talk 00:52, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

I added a source for the US release, I can't find any sources that say Uncharted 2 is coming out in October in any country so I reverted the edits and cited the source for the November 09 release in the US. If there's a problem with the source I've cited feel free to correct it. Earisu |Talk 01:05, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Well a lot of stores have different release dates and i think future shop said it was coming out in october. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nicholasamyoony30 (talkcontribs) 15:55, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Stores aren't a reliable source though, Amazon frequently makes up release dates just to have one. Earisu |Talk 00:45, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
Officially the release date is "Fall 09" as that's what it says on the official website. These are most likely placeholder dates made by the retailers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.153.116.62 (talk) 18:31, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Gamespot has the release dates as US - 13th Oct, EU - 23rd Oct and Aus as 15th Oct, is this reliable? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.64.58.39 (talk) 19:43, 22 July 2009 (UTC) More than one other source has however stated that the release in Europe was 16th. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.64.58.39 (talk) 19:46, 22 July 2009 (UTC) Several Stores say 16 October —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.173.73.128 (talk) 15:40, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

Awards section

Won Spike TV's Game of the Year Award December 12, 2009

To what extent should we put the number of awards this game has won? It has won at least an additional 20+ awards from End of Year awards from websites and other publications. What sites should we put down and which ones not to? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.233.9.164 (talk) 08:52, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

Please don't list every award the game has won on the article. There is another page devoted to the game's awards, you can have a look here. Bumpyrat (talk) 15:49, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

Uncharted Demo

There is a uncharted 2 demo coming apparently in August on the 19th. Although the only known access is preordering Uncharted 2 at GameStop. (The info is at the Gamestop Website within the info regarding UC2) I want to mention this in the article but I am not sure where to put it. Someone may want to put it up.

It would need a reliable source, if only Gamestop has said it I'm not sure if it's reliable enough. I'll have a look though. Also, 98.238.192.73 (talk), please sign your comments with four ~ . Earisu |Talk 16:50, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Not on PSPGO

Please delete the part of Uncharted 2 on the PSPGo, it's a fake, check the link from the gametrailers forum and you will see that the text and the picture was added (the font is not the same). Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.240.207.114 (talk) 08:09, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

Uncharted Demo

I went back and changed the 'beta' to 'demo' on the Play.com reference because GameStop already has a listing for it and the 1up interview with Naughty Dog has confirmed this - http://www.1up.com/do/feature?pager.offset=3&cId=3175544

"1UP: And you guys are doing a demo, correct?

EW: We have the multiplayer demo starting on September 15 as a two-week exclusive with GameStop initially. So that takes us to the end of September, and then the next two weeks leading up to our launch date -- October 13 -- it will be open to everybody."

Heck...I would be under good reason to remove the reference to Play.com altogether as it says "starting on September 15 as a two-week exclusive with GameStop initially" in no way stating it has gone with Play.com also.

Again...So far there is a demo coming to Gamestop where its existence has been confirmed by Naughty Dog. I have not seen when Play.com's site when this 'beta' starts...But if only a demo has been public knowledge I can only reason that the 'beta' is a demo and Play.com has been misinformed. I suggest it be left that way or the reference be removed altogether unless you have another source.

Uncharted Series NOT Coming to Xbox - Can we lock the page?

Someone keeps editing the page for Uncharted 2 with no sources or links saying Uncharted 1 and 2 will be coming to the Xbox 360, which is not only untrue because of a lack of references, but because Naughty Dog is a Second-Party developer for Sony. I've already undone edits 5+ times from Xbox Fanboys who keep saying things like PS3 sucks or various other forms, can we lock the page to prevent vandalism?

Salem Wolf (talk) 06:34, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

Yeah I have noticed that too, I feel we should chuck a lock on the page that only allows registered users to edit. Because as you said Salem Wolf, its getting ridiculous. Damien Russell (talk) 07:20, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
It's probably not a candidate for protection if the vandalism is only coming from one user. Normal practice is to just block that user from editing. If there is persistent vandalism from multiple users then it may be protected. Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 07:35, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

Hi I hate to be pedantic but this is a encyclopedia so here goes. Naughty dog is a first party studio for sony which means its essentially a subsidary of SCEI. Fact but i cant be bothered to find a reference, check the ND wikipedia page. So if it is owned by sony the chances are they'll never go multiplat. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.6.245.17 (talk) 16:57, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

This is a very old discussion. It started as the result of blatent vandalism. I don't think anyone ever seriously thought this was coming to Xbox. I think we can drop this now. Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 17:28, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

1080p native resolution

I have seen that the native resolution for Uncharted 2 is being reported as 720p, 1080p. Are there any sources that I can refer to? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 118.101.43.72 (talk) 05:32, 10 October 2009 (UTC)

It seems very unlikely that a game like Uncharted 2 would be rendered in 1080p. Please do not add it unless you find a reliable source. Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 11:13, 10 October 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. Just want to comment on some unreliable information on the Wiki. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Geekster129 (talkcontribs) 12:51, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

Oh right, sorry. I thought you were saying that you thought it was in 1080p. Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 16:25, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

I just bought it it has all native resolutions from 480i to 1080p The Movie Master 1 (talk) 01:30, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

Nevermind you guys I just glanced at it its only 720p im sorry The Movie Master 1 (talk) 23:45, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

Nope, on the box it says HD 720p, better luck next time Bumpyrat (talk) 15:29, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

Vandalism

It seems that one contributor continues to delete the GameStats score simply because it is lower than the other two scores. GameStats is a respected site and has a place in providing information in this article. Becasuse of these repeated acts of vandalism, that user should be blocked from editing this article.

Game Synopsis

Does the article really need the entire story explained to them? It spoils the whole thing for someone who hasn't played.12.235.161.66 (talk) 09:03, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

According to WP:SPOILER "Spoilers are no different from any other content and should not be deleted solely because they are spoilers." 121.222.179.94 (talk) 09:25, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

Reception all positive?

So far it seems the reception section is entirely positive... but this game does not have a perfect score. If you look at the other articles for highly top rated games, you'll see there are some negative points. By all means these point would only be a few sentences given the small amount of negativity overall directed at this game, but it's there and needs to be mentioned (if only in a minor at least). Stabby Joe (talk) 23:14, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

Like LBP when they commented on slightly clunky controls? If you can find some then sure, but they should be official, and also when I played it I couldn't fault it. Bumpyrat (talk) 15:32, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

Sequel

Will there be a sequel to this game?Cheddarjack (talk) 23:00, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

You might wanna take up that debate at the official forums - Wikipedia is a not a discussion forum. Eik Corell (talk) 01:23, 12 December 2009 (UTC)

Can I just hint that it also says Nolan North will reprise his role as Nathan Drake - Nolan North isn't mentioned anywhere else in the page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.6.245.17 (talk) 16:59, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Designers

Can someone please research a few more designers other than Amy Hennig (Creative Director)? I unfortunately don't have access to the game anymore, but there should be a credits section of some sort in there somewhere where you would find some other key people to add to Designers.

Also, is adding another section for Writers just for Amy Hennig really necessary? I think she's better portrayed for her role as a Creative Director. IComet (talk) 06:57, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

Plot section

I understand the story of Uncharted 2 is interesting and contains a high degree of dramatic elements when compared to many other video games available, but I think the plot section is already very rich and contains sufficient details as it stands. Ken l lee (talk) 05:42, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

"the fastest selling first-party title on any PlayStation platform"

I may just be reading it wrong, but the quoted source seems a little ambiguous on this. Does he really mean fastest selling on the PlayStation platform, or just the PS3? 60.228.194.188 (talk) 10:46, 10 March 2010 (UTC)

Awards

Yes, I understand Uncharted 2 was an amazing game. I agree, I think so too. But this separate list is a little excessive. For one, a lot of the awards are from E3, which is nice, but that's something that belongs in the development section as prose. Also, another portion of the awards are from pretty small-time awards that probably aren't worth mentioning. Finally, notable awards should be integrated as prose in the reception section. At the moment, this is a very nice C, possibly B-class article. An important and easy step toward becoming a featured article would be to integrate the reception section (which currently looks like WP:PROSELINE) into a few coherent paragraphs, ending with one paragraph on the MOST notable awards won. Even better might be to integrate the awards throughout the reception section to really convey how great the game is as you're reading that section. Take a look at Chrono Trigger or Bioshock to see examples of what the section might look like. Just some tips to anyone interested in going for an easy featured article push. Axem Titanium (talk) 02:43, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the "tips to anyone interested in going for an easy featured article push". I'm attempting something here, but it's still pretty much a work-in-progress kinda thing. Just so you don't feel ignored... Lord Spongefrog, (I am Czar of all Russias!) 16:23, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

Chloe's refusal to leave with Nate

The reason I think Chloe's refusing to leave with Nate on the train is based on the context of her dialogue in the cutscene:

Chloe: You made your choice. Nate: What did you expect me to do? Chloe: I expected you to have my back. Nate: I had your back. Chloe: How could you possibly with the other two on yours?!

In addition to the above dialogue, Chloe has already been showing her displeasure in an earlier cutscene when Nate and Chloe first met Elena and Jeff:

Chloe: We need to get moving. Nate: Uh wait - um, they're coming with us. Chloe: You can't be serious. Nate: Yeah, I am. I can't just ditch them in the middle of this mess- Chloe: They're only going to slow us down and if we get caught- Nate: Chloe- Chloe: If Lazarevic catches you and me together- Nate: I'm not leaving them behind. Chloe: You don't always have to play the bloody hero, you know. Nate, just dance with the one who brought you, all right? Nate: Yeah, I get it. But they're still coming with us.

I think given the context portrayed in the above two cutscenes it is reasonable to say Chloe is more upset about Nate taking Elena and Jeff along. Ken l lee (talk) 17:24, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
