I'm deleting the external link to the so-called Una Mae Carlisle tribute site (unamaecarlisle.com) because it's nothing but spam--Warren Platts 72.160.25.154 (talk) 04:58, 7 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oxford Index, a highly reliable source, says this about her location of birth: "jazz pianist, singer, and composer of popular songs, was born in Zanesville, Ohio, the daughter of Edward E. Carlisle and Mellie (maiden name unknown), a schoolteacher. (The assertion that she was born in Xenia, Ohio, published in many references, does not conform to family records.)” No prior source has been provided, so I have changed the entry to Zanesville. I'm really confused re: her cause of death and relation to Fats Waller. I'm not sure at all why someone (without an account, just an IP address) edited it to say Waller was her father and not her mentor, and that she was murdered and her sister took over her career. It's hard enough to find sources for her birthplace and other details; any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Maoiser (talk) 13:58, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
