By Victorian, does this refer to Victoria (Australia)? Please clarify. Marasmusine 07:49, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Let's get real
[edit]This article, while obviously well intended, needs a bit of work. It seems to consist exclusively of sentences plucked from various bits of the website of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (Victoria).
It is not yet operational (supposed to start in May 2010), yet it is written in the present tense.
Does anyone have enough information to make this better? HiLo48 (talk) 06:35, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
- Ultranet had 2 go live dates for phase 1 and phase 2, the phase 1 was for teachers and students roles and went live on the 3rd of May 2010, the phase 2 go live date was the 20th of Sept and offered more funcionality for teachers and students roles as well as adding other user roles parents and vistors. I don't have a site I can reference this information to but I was involved on the project. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.166.126.12 (talk) 04:47, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
- They may have been officially planned dates, but as yet nothing is running on the student side, and the teacher implementation day on 9 August 2010 was a total disaster. Obviously, and sadly, totally expectedly, no effective load testing was done, and it crashed, wasting the day totally for 40,000 teaching staff. It is not in useful operation at any significant level anywhere yet, and its credibility is shot. Obviously a bit of POV there, but you will be hard pressed to find another view. Product?
[edit]I don't think "Product" is right. You can't purchase it. Wouldn't something like Service or Online Platform be more accurate? 124.179.208.243 (talk) 08:27, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- There are suggestions that non-government schools may in future also be able to use the Ultranet, for a price, so in that sense perhaps it can be bought. But you do have a point. I like your suggestion of Online platform. HiLo48 (talk) 08:43, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
