Review as part of Wikipedia:GLAM/PoliMi/2020
[edit]Very interesting topic. I did some corrections in spelling and I hope, I didn't change anything in the content, please read again and check for it. 3 things you may change:
- "his technique is very wonderful at which ultrashort laser..." --> wonderful doesn't fit here. Look for a different word, which describes, what you want to say.
- after the first section of "Time resolved in scanning electron spectroscopy" you attached 5 references for a single sentence (the sentence before has another citation, thus these 5 only refer to the one sentence). I guess these are the sources for the whole section. You should put them behind the corresponding sentences!
- in 1.1 you write "from eV to 30 KeV.". A number before "eV" is missing. Or, if you want to say from eV regime, write something like: "in the regime of eV up to 30 keV." ... or similar.

Review
[edit]In scanning electron microscopy some phrases are a bit hard to read. I would have a look at the one that ha eV to 50 KeV In pump probe microscopy I would not start a phrase with a reference [12] --Eli3nora (talk) 14:49, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
Observations and suggestions for improvements
[edit]The following observations and suggestions for improvements were collected, following expert review of the article within the Science, Tecnology, Society and Wikipedia course at the Politecnico di Milano, in June 2020.
The scientific description of the technique is reasonably correct. Ultrafast scanning electron microscopy is not so easy to describe in a simple and understandable way. The second section should discuss the time resolution of the technique, there are no indications of the timescale accessible by this technique. Also the spatial resolution could be mentioned, this is partially related to the laser spot size on the sample. The measurement methodology section is not so easy to understand due to technicalities used in the description. it should be stated clearly the way the optical pump and probe system is coupled with the electron microscope. I suggest to explain this point before describing the type of lasers that can be used and their parameters. A picture of the experimental set-up could be inserted to help the description. It would be more appropriate than the picture of the electron-matter interactions. Even though it could be short a section about the history of the technique could be added as well, the information about this part is already in the article.
The applications sections could be enriched by some examples taken from the references and possibly by a representative picture of one experiment showing the information that can be obtained with this technique.
The language should be revised carefully, there are many typos mistake and wrong or unclear sentences.

Awful
[edit]This page is a hodgepodge of pieces lifted from various sources, with very bad grammar. I have done some cleaning, but it needs a WP:TNT rewrite. The only reason not to do a PROD/AfD is that there is no decent page on this. Ldm1954 (talk) 13:36, 16 September 2024 (UTC)
- Addendum: I have asked some colleagues who work in the area with the response:
- Good grief, that is awful. I’ll see if our guys can put a little time into it, thanks for sharing.
- Fingers crossed they will follow up. Ldm1954 (talk) 14:08, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- There is no interest in repairing this page. I will redirect to Ultrafast electron diffraction as WP:TNT. Ldm1954 (talk) 06:00, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
