Voice Lines

[edit]

Should we start adding character voice lines in the mechanics section, a dedicated section, or a dedicated article? I have already started watching Ultimate Custom Night playthroughs and have heard a bulk of character voice lines, although some are garbled. The Squid Writes (talk) 17:53, 28 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You can put the voice actor's names next to the characters they voice act, but ONLY if they are confirmed to be their voice actor. No speculations. Dannyyankee12 (talk) 18:16, 28 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Dannyyankee12 But what about the actual voice lines, or script? Where should they be placed? The Squid Writes (talk) 22:07, 28 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The voice lines and script should be copyrighted. Thus, they can't be posted on Wikipedia except for quotes needed for the article. Adrio (talk) 20:14, 29 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Merge?

[edit]

Should this article maybe be merged with Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator? UCN was developed as part of that game. Nightmarefoxxy (talk) 20:02, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Main Series Game

[edit]

Ultimate Custom Night should be considered as the seventh main series game. Since Security Breach is called FNaF 9 in the files, then that leaves either Ultimate Custom Night as FNaF 7 (with Help Wanted being FNaF 8) or Special Delivery as FNaF 8 (with Help Wanted being FNaF 7). It doesn't seem plausible that Special Delivery is FNaF 8 as it a mobile exclusive live service game that while it did start off with canonical lore drops via the emails about Vanessa, they were eventually scrapped for unknown reasons. Also the game hasn't received any new content since December last year with no signs of more content being added (besides the recycled events) and the developer, Illumix, has been radio silent about the game since late January. Ultimate Custom Night while first envisioned as an add-on to Pizzeria Simulator, it was released as a stand-alone game and has a higher chance at it being a main series game over Special Delivery. While Ultimate Custom Night's connection to the main series is flimsy, the story "The Man in Room 1280" from fifth Fazbear Frights book (which is meant to fill in the gaps for the main game series) seems to imply that the events of the game take place in William Afton's nightmare, where he is being tormented and kept from going to hell by Golden Freddy, which leads Afton to escape and become Glitchtrap in Help Wanted. Also Ultimate Custom Night was ported to consoles and mobile by Clickteam along with the first six main series games, whereas other spin-offs like FNaF World weren't. I agree with this sentiment. While some believe that it is "not canon" or "just a joke", it should still be considered a mainline game as it has been treated the same as all the other main games. One other piece of evidence is that I believe Cawthon never explicitly said it was "non-canon" or anything like that, and he was usually very good at clarifying canonicity (FNaF World, Sister Location Custom Night, and The Silver Eyes) ArojamDharkon (talk) 19:25, 4 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The entire game would a side-story if canon, which is literally what a spinoff is.
Whether or not you believe it to be canon, the game is objectively a spinoff as it has no significant impact on the main game events. Ceborg (talk) 16:27, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
To add to this, the game could easily be swapped out for pretty much anything else, and none of the game events would change in the slightest, as literally all the game would even do is fill in the gaps between Afton dying and being uploaded into HW. Ceborg (talk) 16:32, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The entire framing of this discussion is completely wrong, so I will do my best to correct this. It does not matter what the fans of this series recognize the game to be, nor does it matter what any individual editors believe based on their experience with the series. The only thing that matters is what the reliable sources say about the game. Of those listed, only one clarifies its position within the series, and it states directly that the game is a spin-off. There is also no source that supports having "Five Nights at Freddy's 7" as an alternate title for the game. There is no necessity that Wikipedia give made up numerical labels to entries that don't otherwise have them, and it certainly is not something that should cascade between pages. https://twitter.com/Clickteam/status/1715042621884649712 This is a tweet from Clickteam, the company that ported FNaF 1-4, SL, FFPS, UCN to console and mobile, where they respond to someone by saying that they handle FNaF 1-7 and that Steel Wool handles Help Wanted. This means that Ultimate Custom Night is FNaF 7. MarvelDc2003 (talk) 10:18, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
