The capital of Ukraine is the City of Kyiv - Article 20 of Ukrainian Constitution
[edit]Article 20 - The capital of Ukraine is the City of Kyiv - http://www.rada.gov.ua/const/conengl.htm#r1
Yes, google finds more for Kiev than Kyiv, but you shouldn't ignore changes. When you come to KBP you see Kyiv written in yellow colour on the terminal B. Still ignoring? Should we change ukrainian constitution only due to google search result? Definetly, no!!! Of course in USSR Kyiv in every foreign press was spelled as Kiev. As a result it caused a habit to spell name of the capital of Ukraine in wrong way even up to day, but we are not living in USSR anymore. We are living in independent Ukraine and the capital of this country is Kyiv. —Preceding unsigned comment added by SWC (talk • contribs) 16:12, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
- It is normal to use the common english name as used in the related article Kiev, when and if that article changes then it can be changed here. If you have a problem with the use of the name then please raise is at Talk:Kiev/naming, thank you. MilborneOne (talk) 16:30, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
There are several requests at the article about KIEV to change it to KYIV.....so, its for me the question, why admins in wikipedia are blocking this change...Bayernbanker (talk) 16:07, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
did anyone think of using "UkraiYna" instead of "Ukraine" in English Language? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.49.246.97 (talk) 17:00, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
Completely agree! - US-Government writes KYIV like UK does - f.e.https://www.gov.uk/government/world/organisations/british-embassy-kyiv, so why to use an old version - KIEV, which ukrainians by themselves do not use?? (talk) 16:03, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
- Just to make it clear if the article moves from Kiev then we can change it here, you need to make your case at that article for changing the name. MilborneOne (talk) 13:27, 5 August 2016 (UTC)
Non-notable Incidents
[edit]I have removed the non-notable incidents again, accidents and incidents need to to be of note (hull loss or fatality for example) but these additions dont meet the project criteria. As a challenged addition then the proposer to make a case why these trivial incidents should be included and should gain a consensus to add them, thanks. MilborneOne (talk) 20:37, 3 August 2016 (UTC)

Like in several portraits about airlines accidents like overrans of runway are mentioned - f.e. the Fokker 70 of Austrian in MUC (also no hull-loss or fatality!) - so I cannot agree with the individual opinion of MilBorneOne. If incidents are mentioned in the incidents for investigation of the national aviation authority (like in this case of UIA)- its surely worth to mention. If there is also a trend of accumulating incidents - it should be published, cause its an interesting information. Bayernbanker (talk) 16:04, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
- Just because it is interesting doesnt make it encyclopedic, also note this is not my opinion but an agreed guideline on inclusion at Wikipedia:AIRLINE-CONTENT, you need to read it and explain why you think these incidents meet the criteria, thanks. MilborneOne (talk) 16:24, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
- It is interesting for you and this is not your personal website. Read WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Furthermore, this [1] is no vandalism at all. This is what vandalism actually is.--Jetstreamer Talk 21:16, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
Jetstreamer, why you see f.e. overruns at AEROLINAS ARGENTINAS as being worth to mention and at UIA not? Again, read carefully what I wrote, please! - I just followed the logic of another airticles. Concerning vandalism - undiscussed deletion of verified and true content is not covered by the guidelines, isnt it? So, how else to call it than vandalism? Beside this - wikipedia is also not to built on the personal logic of Jetstreamer, correct? Bayernbanker (talk) 07:40, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
- Overruns are notable if the aircraft involved was written off. Read WP:AIRCRASH for the criteria of inclusion.--Jetstreamer Talk 13:39, 8 August 2016 (UTC)

Logo
[edit]Does anyone know why the UIA logo is so similar to the Lufthansa logo? If you look into the sky and you see a UIA plane and you look at the tail fin, you might mistake it for a Lufthansa plane. 95.172.233.137 (talk) 10:44, 28 December 2021 (UTC)
