2 November 1912
[edit]How odd, I have a cite that says she suffered a small boiler explosion in this date and rushed back to Norfolk to transfer the dead & injured. Anyone know what the facts are? [1]
- Very strange; according to this article dated 3 Nov., Noruega was in a collision and that "two battleships have gone to her assistance". Parsecboy (talk) 20:11, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
- It is simply remarkable two cites mention the same date. Outside of the official records we have no idea where she was on 7 November for example. This says something about the reliability of sources or something. --''Paul, in Saudi'' (talk) 01:56, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, it is rather strange; I wonder if the ship's logs could be tracked down to figure out which one is correct. I suppose both could've happened the same day and the NYT article simply omitted mention of the rescue effort (or perhaps the ship was sent out later in the day, and the reporter didn't hear about it before writing the article).
