Comments

  • From the lead: "...defend against a sortie...": defend against sorties...?
  • Slight inconsistency in length and beam dimensions recited in body and infobox
  • 1-inch vs one-inch
  • "The base of the funnel (ship) was...": The base of the ship's funnel was...?
  • "...for service with the James River Flotilla.": ...for service with the James River Flotilla of the North Atlantic Blockading Squadron? Sets up antecedence for the squadron when Mahopac transfers back to it from the South Atlantic Blockading Squadron
  • the link for James River Flotilla is a redirect to Union Blockade; strikes me as a wee bit of an Easter Egg as at a glance, the flotilla is not mentioned in that article
  • link Charleston
  • "...Mahopac and Saugus were ordered report..." : Mahopac and Saugus were ordered to report?
  • "She decommissioned in June and was laid up at there": was decommissioned, laid up at the Washington Navy Yard?
  • Presumably you would have put it in if you had the information but have to ask: any reason for the temporary rename to Castor?
  • Two duplicate links: sister ship and Beaufort, South Carolina
  • Images check out OK
  • No dablinks
  • External links check out OK

I'll check back in a few days. Cheers. Zawed (talk) 09:21, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

All done except for the renaming thing. The new Secretary of the Navy in 1869 decided to rename almost every ship using names from classical mythology. He was replaced a few months later and that Secretary returned most, but not all, of the ships back to their original names. Seemed a bit complicated to include, but... Thanks for the review.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 13:45, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
