Copyvio

[edit]

Some of the text (but not most) of this article appears to come from http://www.historycentral.com/Navy/MISC/Glacier%20IV.html

This is a problem, and should be addressed, but I don't think it's a large enough portion of the article to require {{copyvio}}ing the page. -Harmil 20:30, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

historycentral.com site is actually a rip of [1] which is in the public domain. --Brad (talk) 02:32, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I was aboard USS Glacier during Deepfreeze ‘60 and Operations Officer for Deepfreeze ‘61. Some of the facts in historical narrative are wrong; source would be USS Glacier logs and my own, which I kept.
In particular, exploration of the Bellingshausen Sea and naming of islands (one named for me) was on my second cruise aboard. My Captains were (1) CDR Phillip Porter and (2) CDR Edward Grant. On my first cruise we stopped at Montevideo and Rio on the way home; on the second, we visited Capetown. 2600:4040:294E:6700:4943:4C0F:29B2:A68C (talk) 19:31, 7 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Here is another possible problem: http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/ship/icebreaker.htm Compare this with others. I will now vigorously edit this article to fix this. I hope.Tjlynnjr (talk) 19:03, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WAGB-4 cruise book

[edit]

I was part of the Glacier's final crew which made Deep Freeze '87. I was wondering if a cruise book was made of the final cruise. 2600:8803:B201:A000:AC7E:428B:E7DB:1903 (talk) 06:05, 21 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
