The article says the 21" torpedo tubes were removed in 1961.
These may have been the trainable 5-tube mounts. In 1968
we had two, single-tube, non-trainable 21" tubes located
between the uptakes (stacks). There were 21" Mk 37 torpedos
in the torpedo magazine.
In 1968 the tubes 21" tubes were removed to make way for two DESOTO vans. The 21" tubes never returned.
