Image available (but can it be used?)

[edit]

Blogger Dan Haneckow put online an interesting photo of the Admiralty Islands at: http://cafeunkown.blogspot.com/2006/12/newsroom-dragonfly-before-sky-8.html (halfway-or-so down the page).

The image itself (which must be accessed through his blog entry) is at: http://photos1.blogger.com/x/blogger/7099/1705/1600/855305/The%20Admiralty%20Islands%20CVE%2099%20and%20Hawthorne%20Bridge.jpg

Haneckow's caption for the image reads:

The brand new sternwheeler tug "Portland" assists the retired escort carrier USS Admiralty Islands (CVE-99) through the Hawthorne Bridge on its final journey to Zidell Machinery and Supply Company's yards (near today's South Waterfront development) for scrapping.

The photo is from the now-defunct Oregon Journal but I don't know what that means in terms of fair use; I suspect that copyright is held by The Oregonian66.167.137.9 00:48, 6 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]
