Captain Henry Prince
[edit]Hi, there are a few 404 links that are connected to references about a Captain Henry Prince...
I'm wondering if this has any relation to this Henry Prince who participated in the Mexican American war as well as worked as a US Army paymaster. I couldn't find any connection to the ship when doing his biography, but I'd be curious to see those sources to confirm if we could find working links for them. - Henry Prince was a Revenue-Marine officer ( later United States Revenue Cutter Service ) that served from June 1832 to June 1846. I have no more information on Prince. My source for dates served is:
- Noble, Dennis L. (1990). Historical Register U.S. Revenue Cutter Service Officers, 1790–1914. Coast Guard Historian's Office, U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters, Washington, DC. p. 58.
- The book is a rare one that is out of print but there is an online version at this link:
- I doubt that the two Henry Prince's are related. For general information, the rank of that of a Revenue-Marine captain is much higher than that of an Army captain. I did update the Record of Movements link that was dead. Cuprum17 (talk) 19:48, 8 October 2024 (UTC)
