In researching the USLHT Holly, I originally intended to add the information to the USS Holly page. However, the information from the USCG Historian's site makes no mention of the Holly being turned over to the US Navy. Additionally, newspaper articles during the period when USS Holly was in service clearly show USLHT Holly being overhauled and returned to the lighthouse service. As such, I have not yet determined whether there were two different ships named Holly, or if the DANFS information is incorrect. Given her overhaul was from August through October 1917, I suspect the US Navy's intent was to obtain the USLHT Holly for service, but found her unfit for such service. If/when I find further clarification on this, I'll update the page accordingly.--KMJKWhite (talk) 19:34, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
