United States Army?

[edit]

Can't USA also stand for United States Army? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.85.37.168 (talk) 00:53, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hm possibly although I think that the USA's army is acronymed as USAF (United States Armed Forces) Mishka Shaw (talk) 14:08, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No, USAF is the United States Air Force, which is a different military branch. The United States Army is indeed sometimes abbreviated "USA", as stated in the first sentence of the article on that topic. —BarrelProof (talk) 23:32, 13 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't the United States Army listing be moved to be with the main listing for United States of America? It seems odd to have such a closely connected usage lost amongst the "Other Uses" section. --Khajidha (talk) 10:11, 18 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Khajidha: USA redirects to United States as a primary redirect, which is why it is listed at the top. United States Army shouldn't be listed alongside it at the top as it is not the primary meaning of USA and no more important or relevant than any other entries on this disambiguation page. I was thinking of a sublisting under United States, as United States Army is directly derived from United States which would seem to make it more relevant than the other listings.--Khajidha (talk) 14:36, 3 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
