[edit]Removed this until citation can be given, but i think they meant to also put this in the france ufo sightings article, not the united kingdom ufo sightings article (:O) -Nima Baghaei talk · cont · email 17:53, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
On June 2, 2007, there was a sighting of a large orange coloured round object in [[Cherbourg]], France. This was at 23:30. Amongst many sightings in this area recently. This was similar to the one sighted near Portsmouth, UK.

Volume problem
[edit]The number of unmistakable sightings in the UK alone over the decades no doubt number in the millions so this wiki page would end up being rather voluminous. 85.83.19.103 (talk) 04:08, 2 December 2012 (UTC) Dan Frederiksen

Developing the Falkirk Triangle wiki page?
[edit]why is there no page for the Falkirk Triangle?! Considering the amount of verified UFO sightings in the Falkirk area and Bonnybridge, you would think someone would have set up a developed page for it? there is enough verified historical material for such a page. Anyone want to help set it up?
1: you have the stooshie with councillor Billy Buchanan in the late 1990's.
2: you have the sightings in Bonnybridge that continued into the early 2000's. The Bonnybridge wiki page should be developed as well with regard to UFO sightings. It reflects badly on the town that no one there could be bothered to include this. https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Talk:Bonnybridge
3: you have the weirdness of the Livingston sighting at Dechmont Law where a man was subject to missing time from a spherical object. There is also follow up police reports where the Scottish police, treated the area as a crime scene and took marking and photos of the area. https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Robert_Taylor_incident
4: you have the really weird stuff with the historical figure of Rev Robert Kirk who was subject to visitations by "faeries"/non-human entites in Aberfoyle in Stirling in the year 1692. (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Robert_Kirk_(folklorist)#Death). Aberfoyle's close proximity to Bonnybridge and Falkirk merits its inclusion.
5: the Grangemouth UFO. You have a massive UFO that was seen close to the oil refinery in Grangemouth. https://www.express.co.uk/news/weird/853192/UFO-aliens-photo-underneath-flying-saucer-Grangemouth-oil-refinery-Scotland-Hull — Preceding unsigned comment added by Redblossom (talk • contribs) 14:48, 21 October 2018 (UTC)
6: 1992: James Walker noticed unidentified lights in the sky over Bonnybridge, the town became the scene of numerous UFO sightings. It forms part of the "Falkirk Triangle", an area stretching from Stirling to Fife and the outskirts of Edinburgh. Ufologists claim that Bonnybridge is the world's number one UFO location, with an average of around 300 sightings a year.[36] March 1992: Isabella Sloggett, and her daughter Carol, were walking towards Bonnybridge and saw a blue light hovering above the road in front of them. A UFO landed, and a door on the craft opened. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Redblossom (talk • contribs) 15:00, 21 October 2018 (UTC)

1290 Byland Abbey was a hoax

Can someone help me develop the Falkirk Triangle page?
[edit]For whatever reason a troll editor by the name of Denisarona is removing basic edits to the Falkirk Triangle page. within about 30 seconds of me posting a basic overview of the area on the page Denisarona swooped in just deleted it without actually reading the thing or the reference i provided. It shocking that almost two years after the wikipage was developed it is still empty & threadbare. Can someone help me here develop the page and provide matrial to bulk out the page?

Jim Marrs - possible unreliable source
[edit]At least three incidents (the ones in the 12th and 13th centuries) cite him as a source. However, the Byland Abbey incident seems to be a hoax and looking at Jim Marrs, his writings seem to be WP:FRINGE. Any suggestions? Autarch (talk) 21:39, 17 November 2020 (UTC)
- I believe that Jim Marrs is an unreliable source. But I believe that a potential work around is possible. Maybe if the article notes that Jim Marrs argues that, for example, religious pilgrims in 1113 saw a "dragon" emerge from the sea etc. etc., then I believe that would provide a bit more context as to where that information is coming from and how trustworthy it is/is not. However, the twelfth- and thirteen-century "sightings" may land in a category closer to ancient astronautics (though not "ancient") than modern-day ufology. I reckon there should be a distinction between premodern and modern "sightings" in this article, or that the premodern "sightings" be moved to a different article altogether that addresses those specific sightings. Let me know your thoughts. --Jacquesparker0 (talk) 00:40, 24 July 2022 (UTC)
Calvine incident
[edit]4 August 1990 at around 21:00: a diamond object estimated to be 100 feet wide was seen and photographed by two men near Calvine, Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It was reported as hovering silently in place for 10 minutes before rising rapidly into the sky.
Looks like a an experimental stealth aircraft shot from the side. Viriditas (talk) 11:31, 3 July 2023 (UTC)
