Route description is too long
[edit]The RD of this article is far, far too long. I suggest cutting down the entire section to the length of the first two sections. –Fredddie™ 01:09, 21 March 2016 (UTC)
- Yeah, I realize it was a lot longer than I planned, but there's a lot of good stuff. Could we at least add some of the existing descriptions to various overlapping routes? ---------User:DanTD (talk) 22:26, 28 March 2016 (UTC)
- It should be cut in half as a minimum. There are details in there are are overly intricate that have no place in a properly crafted RD. Specific names of businesses have no place in an encyclopedic description written for a general audience. Frankly, it's so long I'd never bother to read it, and I'm a roadgeek who likes reading our articles. Think about that one. Imzadi 1979 → 00:07, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
- The businesses I've added are only used as landmarks. I can see adding many of the details to articles like Georgia State Route 87, Georgia State Route 42 or Georgia State Route 13. I noticed that that article and the Buford Highway article seem like practical duplicates. Maybe some stuff from the sections used by SR 13 could be moved there, and the Buford Highway Corridor stuff could be left in the other article. And what about Georgia State Route 365? The sections overlapped by US 23 seem kind of small. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 17:24, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
- In comparison, this highway is 392 miles (631 km) in length, and Interstate 75 in Michigan clocks in at 396 miles (637 km). This article has an RD that is 45 kB (7745 words) long. I-75 is an FA that has an RD that is 12 kB (1990 words) long with a section mini lead of 849 B (141 words). If the missing history of US 23 were added, just how flippin' long would this article be? In short, halve the RD and quite possibly, halve it again. Imzadi 1979 → 01:34, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
