GA review (see here for criteria)

  1. It is reasonably well written.
    a (prose): b (MoS):
I do not think "Carferry Docks" should be capitalized as such in the infobox unless that is the proper name. In reviewing an article about a former route, it may help to add a note to the route description as to what time in the route's existience it is based off (I would assume at the time the designation was removed, but this is not clear to readers). In addition, there are several short sentences throughout the article that can be combined with other sentences.
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
Parts of the route description could use some detail as to the physical surroundings.
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
I will put the article on hold for a few fixes. Dough4872 00:47, 9 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
A few comments:
  1. I do believe that "Carferry Docks" was a proper name, but for the moment, I've uncapitalized the "d" in "docks.
  2. Added a note to the beginning of the first sentence of the RD which supplements another existing comment from the section
    1. "At the time of its decommissioning, US 16 started its run ..." was added
    2. "(Later, the I-96 and I-196 designations west of Grand Rapids would be flipped, but at the time leading up to US 16's decommissioning in the state of Michigan, this had not yet been approved.)" is a note that existed in the article after the RD states that US 16 followed I-196. Additionally the history makes it clear the time frame for the freeway-related realignments.
  3. There mentions of the terrain. To add any more though would be WP:OR without period sources for the terrain. Without satellite photos from ca. 1962 that's all I can add at this time. Already in the article are:
    1. "The freeway turned more directly east in Nunica past the eastern terminus of M-104, and continued east through more mixed forest and grassland terrain to serve the communities of Coopersville and Marne."
    2. "I-196/US 16 continued eastward around the north side of the metro area through the suburbs of Walker and Comstock Park."
    3. "Grand River Avenue through East Lansing follows a tree-lined boulevard that forms the division between the campus of Michigan State University to the south and the rest of the city to the north. "
    4. "As the highway approached Brighton, Grand River Avenue passes through rural southeast Michigan lake country."
That should address the addressable comments above. Imzadi 1979  01:32, 9 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I will now pass the article. Dough4872 01:44, 9 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
