To Do

[edit]

-Expand on early and recent history subsections

-Explain in section on Functions and Supervised Organizations how it actually supervises, that is, how it functions

-Increase detail in Funding section

-Add further detail from other GAO reports to Criticism section

Audit

[edit]

Any full scale audit of BBG operations would probably cost $30 million USD.

Can we cite that? - Eric 17:33, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV

[edit]

what is with that last section? are "impossible to audit" and "covert" definable terms or are they just catchphrases that conservative political scientists throw at government agencies? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.171.38.239 (talk)

Independant Agency

[edit]

According to the BBG website, it is still an independant agency. Ishdarian|lolwut 05:49, 18 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

" That´s so typical Wikipedia. --188.23.178.232 (talk) 05:57, 18 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, that IS a former agency. It ceased to exist when it's functions were taken over by the BBG. Ishdarian|lolwut 06:38, 18 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy and criticisms needs update

[edit]

The section "Controversy and criticisms" needs to be updated with information about the 2020 whistleblower complaints and lawsuits about the alleged Voice of America "firewall" destruction by Parks, and the concerns by staffers of political bias interference in favor of Donald Trump.

Where's the connection with its predecessor?

[edit]

Where is the history of its predecessor organization, the Board for International Broadcasting (BIB)? There's no mention at all in this article of the histories and organizations that preceded this organization. Without context, this article is very misleading and provides a false impression...
