Tyler Shields is running a campaign to have his article on Wikipedia edited by friends in order to add validity to the "claims" of his recent events in order to make them seem real. Already this article has been edited by Tyler himself or friends of Tyler in order to give credibility to his hoaxes and claims.

As for the claims that he sold a photo for 1 million dollars, making it the 8th most expensive photo sold in the world and knocking Andy Warhol off the list is unsubstantiated and dubious. The only news outlet to report this amazing artistic feat was the Celebrity Gossip website RadarOnline. [1]

No other proof has come out. In the article they state conveniently that an "anonymous silicon valley computer mogul" (I guess he's not anonymous enough to tell them what he does for a living and all that) bought the photo before the gallery opening for 1 million dollars. No art or photography sites have back this claim up or posted about this record breaking sale. Nothing has been shown to prove the validity of this claim except the celebrity gossip website.

This "artist" is a known hoax artist. Several people have come out showing how the "stunt" where Tyler shot a man was faked for performance art.

1. Look at the recoil on Tyler's arms, there was almost none, this is a clear telltale of a blank.

2. the person who got hit then flinched to the side was clearly acting. Only a few people know what it's like to be actually shot with a bullet proof vest, it distributes the weight and it's like being hit in the chest with a sledge hammer. This person was not hit with a real bullet.

3. It's pretty obvious that when Tyler goes up to the person with the vest on to check them, he pulls out an already shot bullet. Maybe fired against a vest.

4. The man shot is covering the spot where he was hit, you never see the impact mark on the vest again showing that this was faked.

5. The carefree environment where they just tell people to "clear" then shoot a live weapon would be EXTREMELY dangerous. Tyler is not a trained gunsmith, someone very well could have been hurt or an accidental discharge. There is no way this was a real bullet indoors.

The sound, the behavior, the result, no recoil etc..

As for the "collisions" photography, which Tyler claimed would change the face of photography forever, photographers came out and explained that the technique had been in use for decades:

Tyler Shields Collisions is nothing more than a double exposure of sorts. All he is doing is projecting two images onto a projector screen and take a photo of the resulting double image.

This is not original, people have been doing this for decades.

Proof: You can clearly see this in some of the shots where the lenticular pattern of the projector screen shows up.

You can also see this in the behavior of the light and photos, the light areas where white light can show through washes out dark areas of the other photo. This is very apparent in the "mouth" photo where the white wall behind the subjects legs washes out the middle of the mouth in the other photo. Promotional edits

As I've noted at User talk:Freddy Taylor, a single-purpose account, edits to Wikipedia have to be encyclopedically verified by reliable-source citations and be written in a neutral, non-promotional tone. The edits by Freddy Taylor make claims about books selling out and the subject being a hugely popular artist etc., with the only "citations" for these qualitative assertions being Tyler Shields' own website. On at least two occasions, he has attempted to hijack this page for promotional usage. I will pass along this second warning to him, on his talk page. --Tenebrae (talk) 00:17, 13 May 2010 (UTC)

We keep our comments chronological, gong in a downward direction. This page is for making comments and having discussions about improving the article, not posting your opinion about "a hacker", ciomment on content not contributors. He iro 06:03, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

The page suffered from rapid team vandalism yesterday and was protected as a result. The article was then trimmed down to remove unsourced potentially misleading information in accordance with Biographies of living persons. If you can supply reliable sources for new information (for example that Tyler Shields was born in Jacksonville, Florida on April 29, 1982 or that when he was 15 his father became handicapped after suffering a stroke) then please do so here and other editors can add them to the article. Reliable sources qualify notability of the topic, and inclusion in Wikipedia

Note regarding possible COI editing by Tyler Shields or his staff

There's a whole series of SPA registered editors who edit this article and then disappear. Have removed the COI template since it is not meant to be used as a badge of shame (see Template:COI) and the POV/COI/puffery issues have been cleaned up. Shearonink (talk) 13:45, 28 May 2015 (UTC)

It seems that you have some sort of personal vendetta against Mr Shields. You keep restoring the one negative article written by someone also clearly has some sort of personal dislike for him. You won't include anything from Sotheby's or Phillip's or any of the other hundreds of articles written but just the one. If you want to keep that one up, and you seem strangely persistent about it, then other more recent articles and information should be included too. If wikipedia is an encyclopedia then it should include everything, correct? You seem set on just including things that are negative or one sided and are SO insistent it is leading me to believe that it is in fact you you is the bias one here. I am merely trying to update a page and have more up to date information.

Thank you for responding to my queries here as I asked you in a post below. My 2015 post above was in response to a 2013 post about a previous spate of conflict of interest editing.

I care only about the verifiable facts especially regarding a Wikipedia article about a living person. Mr Shield's article attracts vandalism from time to time, people add all sorts of unsourced assertions both negative and positive. Per policy, these unsourced statements should be deleted. I bear no personal animus towards Mr. Shields and have been editing this article since 2012.
In a previous edit you added a source to back-up the statement about Mr. Shields being the youngest ever but that information did not appear in the cited source. Also, previously you had been adding sources that are malformed and you have recently added bare URLS as refs - please take a look at the "Referencing can be easy" section I added to your user talk page. Filling out the cite templates as completely as you can (with author, publisher, dates, etc) protects the article and helps Wikipedia avoid what is known as "cite rot". I converted the references you added to the full cite style that is preferred.
I am unsure as to why you have again deleted the Vice magazine article having been reverted by two different editors including myself. Is the information presented there false?
Guy Hepner is a gallery-owner who handles Mr. Shield's work, correct? Any information presented by this source has to be handled very carefully, because of the probable conflict of interest.
The Hasselblad blog also has a COI since Mr Shields uses a Hasselblad camera.

The KCRW story would be qualify as a reliable source since KCRW is an independent radio station that would probably have editorial oversight (as opposed to a blog from an anonymous source that could be saying just about anything).

As to "more recent", the Elle article (which is a reliable source) - it is from 2012 while the VICE article is from 2016.
You removed the ET Online source that backed-up the information about Shields' family/childhood.
Announcements that serve as PR for a person should be handled with care so a neutral point of view is maintained.

I have no conflict of interest in this matter. Many people who have edited this article in the past did have an apparent conflict of interest.
