[edit]The image File:Tdpmk.PNG is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. 9th century byzantine empire
[edit]James Hastings claims in his encyclopaedia of religion and ethics that Byzantines recorded the existence of Turks during the 9th century in what is now modern day macedonia.

They were apparently christian and fought for the Byzantines as mercenaries.

Torbeš
[edit]User Local Hero reverted my edit I did not understand why. Yes, The Torbeš are not of turkish origin, they don't even speak turkish. However, it is a fact that in the census many of them declared themselves as Turks for various raisons See: Plasnica. Anton.aldemir (talk) 17:53, 15 October 2014 (UTC)
- I think you may be right, but it still needs a source to be included. --Local hero talk 18:05, 15 October 2014 (UTC)
- here it mentions about those in Plasnica "Osmanlı İmparatorluğunun bölgeden çekilmesiyle buranın Türk halkı eğitimini Makedon dili üzerinde yapmak mecburiyetinde kalmıştır. Uzun süre anadilinde eğitimini almayan halk farklı bir etnik unsur gibi gösterilmeye çalışılmış; bazı kesimler tarafından buranın özbeöz Türkleri Makedon Müslüman ya da Torbeş olarak anılmıştır." Statement: Torbeš are purely of turkish origin. Manaviko (talk) 21:58, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
